So I've tried it all; Dodge/burn tool on different shadow/highlight settings, levels, curves, hues, editing colors by channel, filters... Scanned art just won't look the same. Even when I adjust the colors to resemble the original (as close as my eyes can tell), everything just seems so flat on screen. Paper texture noise is also amplified with scan versus natural light on paper. I have a feeling it has something to do with the light reflection properties.
I suppose I could try those digital reproduction services (like contactless scanners or DSLR for paintings). Seems pretty costly though. Otherwise, I'm at a loss. What can I do to recreate
